Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing critique of the opposition in West Bengal on Sunday, asserting that “TMC, Leftists, and Congress are all complicit partners.”

Speaking at a rally in Jalpaiguri ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi accused the opposition of forming the INDI alliance to shield their “partners in crime.” He remarked, “I advocate for ending corruption, but they advocate for protecting corrupt leaders.”

PM Modi also criticized the Trinamool Congress, alleging that “TMC’s syndicate Raj” dominates West Bengal, and the party prioritizes safeguarding its corrupt leaders.

“The TMC government fosters an environment of lawlessness and corruption in Bengal. To shield their corrupt leaders, the TMC resorts to attacking central investigative agencies when they operate here,” he stated.

These comments followed an incident on Saturday where an NIA team was reportedly assaulted by a mob while attempting to apprehend two main suspects linked to a 2022 blast case in Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal. PM Modi accused the TMC of flouting the nation’s laws and constitution.

PM Modi highlighted the state’s situation, asserting that “the judiciary has to intervene” in various matters. He accused the TMC government of obstructing the implementation of central welfare schemes for the poor in the state.

“The TMC obstructs the flow of central funds to the state’s poor. They want these funds to go into their accounts first. The TMC’s syndicate Raj pervades West Bengal, hindering the implementation of central schemes for the poor,” he declared.

PM Modi claimed that the Enforcement Directorate has seized assets worth Rs 3,000 crore from corrupt TMC leaders in Bengal, and discussions are underway on how to redistribute this money to its rightful owners.

“I assure you that the money looted by corrupt leaders will be returned to the impoverished individuals who had to pay bribes for employment,” he promised.

PM Modi accused the opposition coalition of engaging in deceitful politics. “While I advocate for eradicating corruption, the opposition advocates for protecting the corrupt. I will ensure that the corrupt face consequences and the underprivileged receive justice. After June 4, stricter actions will be taken against corrupt individuals,” he declared.

Addressing recent incidents in Sandeshkhali involving allegations of sexual abuse against TMC leaders, PM Modi assured the public that the perpetrators will face lifelong imprisonment
